Youth 青春訳　Ｂｙ　翔 Samuel Ullman

Youth is not a time of life ; it is a state of
mind ; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red
lips and supple knees ; it is a matter of the
will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of
the emotions ; it is the freshness of the deep
springs of life.

青春とは　

一生のうちの、ある時間では無く心の奥に有る"本当の自分"そのもの

艶やかなチーク色の頬ではなく赤い唇でも無く魅惑的な膝小僧でもなく

それはあたかも　深き泉から湧きいずるがごとく清くて創造的でほとばしる物だ

Youth means a temperamental predominance
of   courage over timidity   of the appetite, for
adventure over the love of    ease. This often
exists in a man of sixty more than a boy of
twenty. Nobody grows old merely by a number
of    years.    We   grow   old    by   deserting   our
ideals.

青春とは　

臆病で逃げ腰の己（心）を乗り越える為の　心のトレーニングに（勇気を育てる）に貪欲で

愛と冒険の為に挑戦し続ける事だ

これは時として　６０の男性であっても　２０才　いや、１６歳の青年より若く有り

年齢を数える度に同時に失われていく希望（理想）とは、全く無関係である。

Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up
enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear,
self‐distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit
back to dust.

年月は肌に皺を刻むが　　望みを捨てない事で鍛えられた、魂の皺も同時に刻まれる

心配、　恐れ、　自分が壊れそうになった時　心の舳先を己の心に向かってとり続けるかぎり・・・

Whether   sixty   or   sixteen, there   is   in every
human being's heart   the lure of wonder, the
unfailing child‐like appetite   of   what's next,
and   the   joy   of   the game of living.   In   the
center of your heart and my heart there is a
wireless station; so long as it receives messages
of   beauty,   hope,   cheer,   courage   and   power
from men and from   the Infinite, so long are
you young.

60であろうが16であろうが

全ての人の　幼き日の　あの好奇心とトキメキが消えることは無く

そう　それは次を求めつづけて　決してくじけない幼子の自分でもあり

人生を素晴らしく輝く物にしてくれる

人と人との心の間には、見えない繋がり（会話）があり　　

それは　美　希望　応援　勇気　そして　力　を若き日（青春）の君に　永遠に伝え続ける

年（時）を超えて、なんら変わりなく。

When the aerials are down, and your spirit is
covered with snows of cynicism and the ice
of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at
twenty, but as long as your aerials are up, to
catch the waves of optimism, there is hope you
may die young at eighty.

もし　それを受け取れなくなる日がやって来たとて

君の心が　押し寄せる年齢と供に　皮肉と悲観に氷のごとく閉ざされたとしても

青春は立ち上がり　波に立ち向かい　波をつかまえ　必ず嵐を乗り越える事が出来るであろう

そしてそれは　死するまで決して失われない、本当の自分として有り続けるであろう
